I am 2/3's through it now. Just finished the chapter about getting a real job. I read "Running with Scissors", too.

"Look Me in the Eye", I found to be a good and insightful biography, so far, that I am thouroghly enjoying.

A friend of mine gave me a copy of "Running with Scissors." Is it any good?

"Running with Scissors" is waaaay freakier than "Look Me in the Eye". Both books share a little over-lap from each of the two brothers' perspectives of growing up. The merits "Scissors" are its shock-based humor and quirk-laden characters wrapped in excellent story-telling. "Eye" is a good read even if you do not have AS, but is especially relatable if you do. Both brothers are very smart and talented.

I loved Running with Scissors...the whole read I was thinking...is his dad an aspie? His humor is so perfect for me.I didnt like the movie as much...seemed to miss the humor of the book.

Haven't read his borthers bio yet,but plan to.

"Look Me In The Eye" ought to be required reading for Dino-Aspies, in that John Elder relates so many experiences that happened before Aspergers was a recognized diagnosis, thus, making him a member of the club by default.

You may want to Google his website, because he has a link to his father's faculty page. It may further support your theory that dad was an aspie, too.

Not to spoil the plot, but all the stuff about being on the road with KISS and working for Pink Floyd's company, I found to be pretty cool, but what really freaks me out is his obssession with LandRovers, which I have shared since I was a little kid.
